i found this while on the Savers home page. pretty nifty.

also, i know right now i probably don’t have any readers, but for future reference, i am looking for patterns or pictures of 1930′s country style full aprons.  they seem to be a cross between a smock and a bib apron(re: the length).  i have searched and searched on the web and have not come accross one.  sigh.

here are the notions i found at Savers last night. there are two sewing tracers… one has a pretty pink bakelite handle. i saw one online that matches it and it looks like it might be from the 1930′s. 3 needle books… 2 say *sewing susan* and one says *sewing circle*. the sewing circle book says on the back “made in occupied japan”. trip out eh? also various snaps, hook and eyes and needles. oh and also a tatting shuttle, which i had never heard of before last night.

okay… what do i have to do today???

well i am feeling a mix of giddyness and guilt. yesterday i went to Savers after my son got home from work, because it was 99 cent Monday… i only went to look for vintage fabric. okay what did i end up buying??? argh… i bought 7 vintage 1970′s patterns, a bag of old notions… which ended up being full of good stuff and one piece of fabric. i can’t believe i did that. well yes i can believe it. but i spent my last 10 bucks in that store. it’s like i get intoxicated when i go in there. as i walk around, it’s like i am holding my breath the whole time and no oxygen is getting to my brain for me to think correctly. anyways… the one piece of fabric i did get was a 1970′s print pillowcase, which will go nicely with the green corduroy i have. i am not quite sure if i am going to make a tote or a messenger bag yet. i do need to figure that out quickly though, cuz i am B-R-O-K-E! and need to sell, hopefully, a couple of bags. i also was supposed to go and buy embroidery floss, a covered button kit and snaps. i guess i will have to improvise… i also have so much mending to do and curtains that i promised to make for my niece over a month ago. sigh. okay time to get to work.
